NOTE: The big attraction with the Olividae HAS to be the extreme variability of local populations- like snowflakes, almost no two Olive critters are alike!! Almost more than any other family, they lend themselves to wonderfully attractive variation sets, which I dearly love to assemble (despite the time involved!!). The beauty of population variability is that the more common the species, the easier it is to get hundreds of them together, and just select the best and most different. So, if you like variety in you life, why not try this gastronomically-named bunch? You could be plesantly surprised!! |
